Upoad Problems on new server 5 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Hi,

I'm having a couple of problems.

ERROR: Failed to open config file 89e5d9bbb7f812a2d400db3e6e573f71.link

ERROR: Failed to find flength file

How would I go about getting this component working? I not computer savvy.

Thanks,
Eric

Hi Eric,

You have to make sure that the ubr_upload.pl script was uploaded correctly and has the required ownership (the ftp user) and permissions (0755)

The following document should be useful:

documentation.hwdmediashare.co.uk/wiki/S...d_Perl_Upload_Method
documentation.hwdmediashare.co.uk/wiki/P...to_find_flength_file

Thanks for the reply. I'm working on perl. It's loaded in cgi-bin. How do I open it in my browser to get the url? I put the ftp url in and it's asking me for a password so I'm assuming it was the wron url.

Thanks,
Eric

BTW, I tried to update to the latest hwd version, I'm running 2.1.2, and it couldn't find an xml file?

For instance your site is www.example.com, the URL to the ubr_upload.pl should be www.example.com/cgi-bin/uu/ubr_upload. If you try that URL in a broser you should get a page that says ERROR: Invalid parameters passed, that's a good sign.
If you get a 404 Not found error it means that the ubr_upload.pl was not uploaded to the correct location, and if you get a 500 Internal Server Error that means that the ownership and permission of the script are not correct.

Once the URL to the ubr_upload.pl works correctly, make sure that the same path is in General Settings -> Uploads -> URL to ubr_upload.pl

Probably you didn't tried the correct file. The main component is the com_hwdVideoShare_20091204.tar.gz file inside the Pro Package. Also make sure that you read and understand the tips at documentation.hwdmediashare.co.uk/wiki/N..._hwdVideoShare_2.1.4

If you have problems with the upgrade please open a new thread.
