TOPIC: Two info pop up boxes with latest Nightly Build

Re:Two info pop up boxes with latest Nightly Build 3 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Ok the problem has been fixed but I note we are back to the previous text box version (black text on grey background without formattting).

I must say that after seeing the alternate new text box (Black on light background with paragraph spacing), I prefer the new version rather than the old version.

Which one will you be eventually adopting?

Ok the problem has been fixedGood, thanks for letting me know.

but I note we are back to the...It is important to clarify something here...

I must say that after seeing the alternate new text box (Black on light background with paragraph spacing), I prefer the new version rather than the old version. The "new" one that you saw is just the default image "alt" text. All images in webpages have "alt" text which gives a text alternative to the image. Normally, when you hover a mouse over the image, the browser will show this text and this is what you are seeing here:
www.w3schools.com/tags/att_img_alt.asp

back to the previous text box version (black text on grey background without formattting). This is called a tooltip. It is a much more powerful way to display information about things on your page. Your tooltip is black text with a grey background because that is how your Joomla template defines them. You can actually define them however you like. For example, try moving your mouse over one of the images on our demo page:
demo15.hwdmediashare.co.uk/

Which one will you be eventually adopting? We will be sticking with the tooltips!

Does this clarify the issue?

Ok thanks for the clarification. I understand the differences and now know what is being used in the component. I just have to figure out how to FORMAT the Tool Tip information.

I have been looking at ToolTip formatting.

From your demo website the text in the tooltip is formatted (paragraphs) and also in the black text and white background. On my website the text is not formatted and presented in on block of text with the default joomla Black on Grey.

In the video description I have formatted the text yet in the tooltip box there is no formatting.

How do I format text in the tooltip?
How do I change the tooltip grey background to White?

Thanks

I just have to figure out how to FORMAT the Tool Tip information. The appearance of the tooltip is defined with CSS. On our demo website, the core Joomla template does this. For example, look at this file:demo15.hwdmediashare.co.uk/templates/rt_...css/template_css.css
Then search for the text "tootip". You will see how the tooltips are defined.

How do I format text in the tooltip? The tooltip is in two parts, the title and the description. Most Joomla templates will define the title as bold, and the description as normal text. Note, any HTML formatting in the descritption will actually be removed for the tooltip...

Hope that helps!
