Please help hwdMediaShare over the next week

Over the next 7 days, until the 21st March, we need your help. We will be understaffed during this period. This is due to a combination of events. The main developer (Davors) will be away, another member of staff is migrating to a new country, and the Chilean Earthquake has unfortunately disrupted the ability for other staff members to deliver regular support.

Therefore, it might take longer than usual for you to receive a response to your forum messages. If you post here regularly we ask that you please do not post during this period unless it is absolutely necessary. Additionally, please try to spend a little time helping new users with problems. Our regular level of support will be resumed as usual by the developers after the 21st March. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

Content plugin: display multiple vids from cat id? 1 Month, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
Hello, I LOVE this component so far and want to thank the team for developing it. It was definitely worth the purchase for all of the features it provides!

With that said, I was wondering:

1) Can I use the content plugin to display multiple videos from a video category inside of my articles? It would be nice to have this option. I would like to do this but it seems it is limited to only displaying one video.

Thank you for your help,

Ryan

Try adding this into an article:{hwdvs-related}4{/hwdvs-related}

This is supposed to add 4 videos into the articles that are related to the article title, description and tags. If it works, let me know. We can easily modify it to insert videos from a specific category.

Hi Davros, thanks for your response. I did try the related video plugin tag but it did not work (it showed a black box with two arrows at the top right)...it is important to note that I am using FlexiConent as my main content management component so I only tested it with that.

Do you know when you are going to add the options of allowing categories to display through your plugin and have it ready for download for pro subscribers like me?

By the way, I rated your component a 5/5 (of course!) at the Joomla extensions directory.

Hey guys, the reason the "related videos" might not be showing is because your artcile has no related videos. The hwdVideoShare will try to match videos against the article title, description and keywords. If nothing is found, nothing will be displayed. I have tested this feature on our development websites and it does seem to work.

Please note, I have spent time today improving the plugin so it will actually give a message saying there are no related videos. Additionally, I have added a new tag, which will let you insert videos from specific categories... which is what this thread requested originally.

You would insert category videos with this tag:
{hwdvs-category}4|cat_id=25{/hwdvs-category}

I have updated our documentation on this:
documentation.hwdmediashare.co.uk/wiki/U...Share_Content_Plugin

The new feature has been added to the source code. It will be uploaded with the Nightly Build tomorrow night at 18:00 GMT.

Hey Davros, I just tried this and it works but does not display how I want it to. It displays in a box that scrolls through the videos automatically.

How do I get it to display like my module, where it grabs the template from my dark template like this:

$smartyvs->display('mod_hwd_vs_sql_datalists.tpl');

That snippet of code is from the module mod_hwd_vs_sql_datalists.php and it grabs the template from the dark template. Is there anyway I can get it to do this for the plugin as well?

Thanks again for this. It works great, but just doesn't display how I want it to.
