ubr Upload - Speeds gradually slows then stops 4 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Hi,
We are facing an issue that we are not able to upload big size videos using uber uploader.
It start well..then it come to a point where the uploaded shows the current position in kilobytes keep rotating eg: 106444 it will go to 106590 then back to 106444 then the speed will drop to 10-15kb then stop after some time..
we have changed the /tmp to /home/domainname/tmp in ubr_upload.pl and the ini file but no difference..

Hosted with Vexxhost.com - shared
hwdvideoshare ver: hwdMediaShare Package SVN-r269 (latest)

uber uploader is copied from the same package..

I red the
forum.hwdmediashare.co.uk/forum/26-probl...ows-then-stops#24359
but i am not sure it applied to us.. as we changed the /tmp directory..

Please help..
waiting for a quick response..

Thanks,
Daniel.

Hi Daniel

How do the other uploads methods behave with the same files?

This happened with me as well. It ended up being the size of my tmp directory. You may need to contact your hosting company and have them increase your tmp directory size. I'm not sure if changing your tmp directory location does anything to avoid directory size limitations.

This is the response from Dreamhost support...
I had a supervisor take a look at this and it appears
the problem was with the size of your tmp directory. He's gone ahead and
increased it from 16MB to 1600MB, so you shouldn't have any further
problems with your uploads.

Hope this helps.

using ubr uploader i can upload small size files without any issue.

But for big files the error keep coming...it will start fine enetually slows then get stoped and thows the below error message:

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
Apache/2.2.14 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.14 OpenSSL/0.9.8e-fips-rhel5 mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 Server at www.jesuslovesu.info Port 80
-------------------

When i used the flash upload i got this error.

Your video upload failed. This could be for one of the following reasons:

* The uploaded file is too big, and exceeds the upload_max_filesize directive in php.ini.
* The uploaded file went missing after the upload.
* The file already exists on the server.

This is a shared hosting on Vexxhosting.com and got lots of space in ./tmp directory it used hardly 5%

but i am using /home/domainname/tmp directory (please let me know id that OK or not?)

Thanks,
Daniel.

Did you ask your provider about the issue?

but i am using /home/domainname/tmp directory (please let me know id that OK or not?)

The default /tmp location works 95% of the times, but in case it does not (for example because security restricitons ) you need to change it elsewhere.

Have you tried the PHP method? You may need to increase the max upload size in your php ini (not sure if your provider allows that).
