There was a lot of complaints that this didn't give a realistic impression of user activity. Some users might re-load a video many times in the same session. Additional, for videos running competition they noted users would just sit on the refresh button to increase their view count.

Therefore, about a month ago we introduced a more robust method. A view will be logged for each user, once per session.

This means, a user can go your website website and view a video and it will increase the view count by one. However, for the rest of that session, no more views will be logged for the same video. However, if they go away and come back the next day, a new "view" will be counted again.

Please note, everyone gets a session when entering your website so guests are still logged when they view a video.

Therefore, if you watch a video, and visit again within 30 minutes no extra view will be logged. However, if you don't visit the website for over 30 minutes then the view count should increase by one.

Around line 3706 you will see the function logViewing().

Just under that, replace this line:
if ($view_check !== "viewed") {

With this line:
if (1 == 1) {

This will mean that ever view is logged.
